Mosaics
The materials used in my mosaic pieces incorporate handmade shards of ceramic, hand-blown glass, and mirror. Mosaics, according to Issac Luria, represent shards which are “sparks of holiness from the moment of creation. When fragments are united in a new order, balance is restored from chaos and “tikun,” or healing the world, begins.”

In my work, meanings are sometimes intentionally elusive or ambiguous. I am inspired by the shape, texture and color of found and handmade shards. From once beautiful objects, disparate elements, multiple patterns and colors re-combine to create new whole images and new forms of harmony.
